Baker Hughes: US & Canada’s rig counts go up w-o-w for week ending July 31

According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on July 31, 2026, the US rig count was up by one to 588 units compared to the previous week.

Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas kept flat at 127 units, that for oil rose by one to 451 units, and miscellaneous rigs remained unchanged at ten. The total number had a year-on-year rise of 48 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count rose by 15 to 219 units from the previous week, including 63 gas rigs (up by one week on week), 150 oil rigs (up by 12 week on week), and six miscellaneous rigs (up by two week on week). Canada’s rig number went up by 42 units compared to the same period a year ago.
