On October 24, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated anti-dumping (AD) investigations on certain flat rolled steel products from China and South Korea, as well as a countervailing duty (CVD) probe on the same products from China, following an application filed by Australian company BlueScope Steel Limited.

The investigation period spans from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, and the injury examination period is from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2025.

A final report will be submitted to the Minister of Industry and Science no later than March 30, 2026, and the Minister’s decision is expected within 30 days after receiving the final recommendation.

The products involved are flat rolled products of non-alloy or other alloy steel (excluding stainless steel, silicon-electrical steel, tool steel, and high-speed steel), not clad, plated, or coated, not in coils, with a thickness equal to or greater than 4.75 mm and a width greater than or equal to 600 mm, with or without patterns in relief. These products are under HS codes 7208.40.00.39, 7208.51.00.40, 7208.52.00.41, 7208.90.00.30, 7225.40.00.22, and 7225.40.00.24.
