Ashok Leyland & Rosmerta Recycling cooperate for vehicle scrappage network

8 Jul 2026 16:17 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Ashok Leyland, an Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, has formed a partnership with Rosmerta Recycling to establish a nationwide network for recycling end-of-life commercial vehicles. The collaboration allows vehicle owners to utilize Rosmerta's authorized Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities via Ashok Leyland dealers, simplifying the deregistration and documentation process.

The joint initiative is in line with India's Voluntary Vehicle Modernization Program and the Naya Safar Scheme in Delhi-NCR, which mandates scrapping BS-III and older commercial vehicles.

Individuals recycling qualifying vehicles receive vehicle value, manufacturer discounts on new models, plus official waivers on registration fees and road taxes. This structured ecosystem will expedite fleet modernization and the retirement of aging transport vehicles.
