ArcelorMittal Poland announced an investment of over PLN 200 million in a new heating and energy facility at its Krakow steel plant to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. This project is part of the company's ongoing efforts to modernize its production lines and pursue sustainable transformation.

The new facility will include a boiler room, a waste heat recovery system, and an electricity substation, more effectively integrating the heat and steam required for hot and cold rolling processes.

Upon completion, the plant is expected to reduce its annual natural gas consumption by over 2,000 terajoules and CO2 emissions by approximately 115,000 tons.

ArcelorMittal Poland stated that the Krakow plant has now transformed into a high-value-added hot and cold rolling processing base, and a stable and efficient energy supply is crucial to maintaining competitiveness. The new heating plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2027, improving energy reliability while supporting the plant's long-term operational and environmental goals.
