AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Sep 27 hikes w-o-w, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on September 27, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.77 million net tons, increasing by 0.9% from the same period a week ago and by 6.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.1%, up by 0.7 percentage points week on week and by 3.5 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending on September 27, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 66.749 million net tons, rising by 2.2% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 77.1%, up by 0.9 percentage points year on year.
