AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Jan 10 hikes w-o-w, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on January 10, 2026, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.752 million net tons, increasing by 2.8% from the same period a week ago and by 3.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 75.7%, up by 1.3 percentage points week on week and down by 0.6 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending on January 10, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 2.482 million net tons, rising by 2.6% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 75.3%, down by 1.0 percentage points year on year.
