AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Feb 28 falls w-o-w

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on February 28, 2026, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.811 million net tons, decreasing by 0.3% from a week ago and by rising by 6.2% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 78.3%, down by 0.3 percentage points week on week and up by 1.8 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending on February 28, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 15.048 million net tons, rising by 5.0% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 77.2%, up by 0.8 percentage points year on year.
