AISI: US raw steel production in week ending August 1 increases w-o-w, y-o-y

According to American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) statistics, US domestic raw steel production reached 1.87 million tons for the week ending August 1, 2026, achieving an 81.0% capability utilization rate.

Output increased by 5.6% compared to 1.77 million tons and a 78.2% capability utilization rate recorded during the corresponding week in 2025. Production also grew by 0.6% from the previous week ending July 25, 2026, which posted 1.858 million tons at an 80.5% capability utilization rate.

Adjusted year-to-date output totaled 55.51 million tons with a capability utilization rate of 79.0% through August 1, 2026. This reflected a 5.8% rise from 52.484 million tons and a 77.0% capability utilization rate over the same period last year.
