AISI: US raw steel production in week ending Apr 18 increases w-o-w, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on April 18, 2026, the production of US raw steel totaled 1.848 million net tons, a 0.3% increase from the previous week and a 9.7% rise compared to the same period in 2025. The capacity utilization rate for the week was 80.0%, up from 79.8% in the previous week and 75.0% a year earlier.

As of the week ending on April 18, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US raw steel has amounted to 27.719 million net tons, rising by 5.8% compared to the prior-year level of 26.203 million net tons. The year-to-date capacity utilization rate was 77.7%, an increase from the 76.1% recorded during the same period last year.
