The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), a state-owned oil company in Abu Dhabi, approved a Dh22.6 billion (US$6.2 billion) final investment decision for the Umm Shaif Gas Cap project, partnering with TotalEnergies, Eni, and China National Petroleum Corporation.

Production is targeted to start by 2030, delivering over 600 million standard cubic feet of natural gas daily, which accounts for nearly 10% of the daily usage in the United Arab Emirates.

To execute the offshore expansion, three engineering contracts totaling Dh18.8 billion were awarded to international and local contractors.

Furthermore, the investment includes a Dh1.3 billion drilling plan spanning 18 months, utilizing three rigs operated by Adnoc Drilling to complete 14 wells as part of the strategy to expand domestic gas resources and liquefied natural gas operations.
