The Extraordinary Administration of Acciaierie d'Italia confirmed that Blast Furnace No. 2 will restart in the coming days after finishing tests, heating, and filling. This move is expected to allow the company to reach an annual production capacity of 4 million tons of steel by the end of April.

In addition to the restart, Blast Furnace No. 4 will begin a 60-day maintenance period on February 28 to replace plates. Also, the company will recommission temporarily idled coking Batteries 7, 8, and 12 at the coking plants once catalyst maintenance finishes.

These technical updates ensure the Taranto site stays on its industrial timeline, restoring core operations across both blast furnaces and coke ovens this spring.
