AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Apr 12 rises m-o-m

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending April 12, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.689 million net tons, increasing by 2% from the same period a week ago and slightly falling by 0.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 75.2%, rising by 0.8% week on week and dropping by 1.1% year on year.

As of the week ending April 12, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 24.213 million short tons, sliding by 1.3% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 74.6%, a year-on-year drop of 1.3%.
