Vietnam's Hoa Phat is preparing to build a high-quality steel casting and rolling line with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons. Production is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026.

The production line, which will be supplied by Primetals Technologies, will manufacture steel products for automobile tire bead (tire cord, bead wire), processed steel, bearing steel, prestressed steel, and other products. It will also produce rail steel (bloom) and beam blanks for producing steel profiles of up to 800 mm. 

In addition, the wire rod rolling line is capable of producing a diverse range of products, including steel cord and beadwire, cold-formed steel, prestressed steel, non-alloy spring steel, crane cable steel, and precision screw steel.

The project is a part of Hoa Phat's plan to complete its Dung Quat 2 expansion project by the end of 2025, which will increase its annual crude steel production capacity to 15 million tons.
