Ford Trucks, the heavy commercial vehicle brand of Ford Otosan, and global vehicle manufacturer Iveco S.p.A. have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on the development of a new cabin for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

From September 2025, all new truck and bus models sold in Europe must comply with the Direct Vision Standard (DVS). The DVS is a rating system that measures how much a driver of a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) can see directly through their cab windows. The standard, along with carbon reduction targets, will apply to all such new vehicles by September 2028.

According to the signed agreement, the two parties will jointly develop new heavy-duty truck cabs that meet the new EU standards, jointly purchase cab parts where applicable, and produce and assemble cabs in their respective plants and sell the products under their respective brands.

The agreement is valid until December 31, 2029, but both parties have the right to terminate the agreement under certain conditions before November 30, 2026.
