The London Metal Exchange’s (LME) early morning quotes on March 7 showed that prices of base metals rose across the board. Among them, tin futures surged by 3.01% to US$32,660/ton, and nickel futures hiked by 2.7% to US$16,330/ton, hitting a nearly four-month high. Other metals, such as zinc futures, copper futures, and aluminum futures, rose by 1.63%, 1.09%, and 1.67%, respectively.

Metal experts analyzed that if the US imposes a 25% tariff on copper, it will reduce its dependence on imports of refined copper and maintain the supply balance in the US spot market.
