Malaysia initiates AD investigation on galvanized steel coils/sheets from 3 countries

8 Feb 2025 14:37 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on flat-rolled iron alloy or non-alloy steel, plated or coated with zinc, using a hot dip process (galvanized steel coils/sheets) originating in or exported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam.

The probe followed a petition submitted by CSC Steel Sdn Bhd on January 7, which claimed these imports were sold at much lower prices than their domestic selling prices, causing material injury to the domestic industry.

MITI has reviewed the relevant information and evidence and will make a preliminary determination within 120 days from the initiation date. If dumping is confirmed, the government may impose provisional AD duties.

The ministry will distribute questionnaires to interested parties, who need to register their interest by February 21, 2025, and submit written views, questionnaire responses, and supporting evidence by March 8, 2025.
