On February 4, 2025, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) decided to impose preliminary countervailing duties (CVD) on imports of corrosion-resistant steel products from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam.

The preliminary CVD rate is 0.33 (de minimis)-1.72%, 0%-1.56%, and 1.21%-41.40% to Brazil, Mexico, and Canada, respectively.

According to statistics, the US imported nearly 1.84 million tons of corrosion-resistant steel products from these countries in 2023.

Preliminary anti-dumping (AD) duty rates will be established on April 3, and the International Trade Commission (ITC) will determine the final AD and CVD rates on August 1.
