Japan’s JFE Steel to supply JGreeX™ green steel to steel sector through JFE Shoji Pipe & Fitting

6 Feb 2025 16:10 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Japan’s steel manufacturer JFE Steel announced on January 29, 2025, that it will sell its JGreeX™ green steel to JFE Shoji Pipe & Fitting (JKK), a steel pipe and tube trading company in the JFE Shoji group, marking the first sale of JGreeX™ by a Japanese steel distributor in the pipe industry.

This partnership enables small-lot shipments, quick deliveries, and wider market reach. Using a mass-balance approach, JFE Steel allocates emission reductions to specific JGreeX™ green steel products.

As awareness of carbon reduction is rising, JGreeX™ supports greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction in construction and infrastructure. JFE Steel remains committed to decarbonizing supply chains with its green steel materials.
