According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending February 1, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.656 million net tons, increasing by 0.9% from the same period a week ago and by 0.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 74.4%, rising by 0.7% week on week and by 0.9% year on year.

As of the week ending February 1, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 7.534 million short tons, growing by 1.0% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 74.0%, up by 0.7% year on year.
