VSA: Vietnam's crude steel production grows in Nov 2024 m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), Vietnam's crude steel production totaled around 1.9 million tons in November 2024, up by 1.8% compared to the previous month and by 13% from the same month a year earlier.

In the given month, finished steel output fell to roughly 2.5 million tons, sliding by 5.2% month on month, of which galvanized steel and coated steel sheets had the largest declines, down by 10.66% from the previous month. Although the volume dropped on month, finished steel output still increased slightly by 0.8% year on year.

In the first 11 months of 2024, Vietnam's crude steel output exceeded 20.06 million tons, rising by 16% compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Domestic consumption and exports amounted to around 19.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16%.

During the period, finished steel output reached 26.9 million tons, up by 7.7% year on year, with galvanized and coated steel seeing the highest growth rate, 25.7%.
