Dragon Steel obtains recycled content validation for slabs & HRC

Dragon Steel Corporation (DSC), one of the structural steel section manufacturers in Taiwan, announced that its slabs and hot-rolled steel coils have passed the UL 2809 recycled content validation RC67, which will help downstream customers' low-carbon transformation and its parent company China Steel Corporation’s (CSC) production and sales integration.

In response to the demand for recycled materials and low-carbon steel in Europe and the US, CSC is actively developing related products. UL 2809 validation is based on the ISO 14021 standard and ensures that products comply with recycled material specifications.

Dragon Steel uses the continuous casting process of slabs directly delivered from electric furnace steel to increase the scrap use to 67%, achieving a low-carbon process and maintaining steel quality.

In September this year, Dragon Steel obtained this certificate, which strengthened its recycled material smelting technology.

This move is not only in line with the global low-carbon trend but also extends the material cycle, reduces resource consumption, and helps CSC expand the green market.
