A A A
Jindal Stainless, a leading stainless steel manufacturer in India, has a partnership with CJ Darcl Logistics, an Indian transport and logistics company, for the development of lightweight and sustainable stainless steel containers, which will be made of high-strength JT grade stainless steel, also known as N7 under BIS 6991 specifications, applicable in transporting products such as polymers, batteries, and rubber.

Each container will use 2.2 tons of JT grade stainless steel, replacing carbon steel traditionally used in sidewalls, end walls, and roofs. Besides, the underframes of containers will be made of customized stainless steel tubes.

The high impact and fire resistance of this kind of stainless steel also secure the safety of the containers, so the service life is longer.

The use of JT grade stainless steel reduces the weight of each container by around 500 kilograms, increasing cargo capacity, improving fuel efficiency, and reducing operating costs.
