Indonesian Yong Wang decides to idle its cold-rolled mills for at least two months

13 Jun 2024 15:01 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
Indonesian Yong Wang announced its own suspension of production this week. The production line officially halted operations on June 11, with plans to restart at the end of August or early September after an approximate 80-day shutdown.

The specific resumption date is yet to be determined, but it's estimated to take at least two months to prepare. The cold-rolled mill, with an annual capacity of 700,000 tons, primarily produces 300 series products. While some industry insiders suggest the suspension is because several countries imposed anti-dumping measures on Indonesian stainless steel, others claim the plant is reconfiguring its steelmaking and steel rolling production lines.
