According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia’s stainless steel imports totaled around 323,200 tons in the first nine months of this year, hiking by 15.2% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the import volume of cold-rolled stainless steel was up by nearly 27% year on year, and that of hot-rolled stainless steel fell by 8.6% year on year. Russia’s stainless steel welded pipe imports dropped by 13.2%, and stainless steel seamless pipe imports slid by nearly 8%, both on a year-on-year basis. Besides, the imports of stainless steel wire hiked by 33% year on year during the period.
