Indonesia to become leader in global stainless steel exports

Indonesia will lead global stainless steel exports. The country will be the world’s largest stainless steel exporter by 2021 as its stainless steel exports were growing constantly and have reached US$5.8 billion yearly.

Indonesia’s iron and steel export was taking up 11.54% of the country's total exports. The country's iron and steel exports went up from around 303,000 tons in 2017 to around 460,000 tons from January to September in 2018.

For the same period of time, Indonesia's exports of stainless steel hot-rolled coil increased from around 324,000 tons to 878,000 tons.

Indonesia’s first quarter steel exports went up by 30.96% compared to the same period of time in 2018.
