Iran to enlarge its steel capacity by 3 times
Reportedly, Iranian government is going to enlarge the country’s steel producing capacity to 48 million ton per annual (MTPA) in the coming five years.
Iran is the major steel producing country in Mid-East area while the country’s current steelmaking capacity is only 14 MTPA.
Its steel facilities have been boosted to different parts with central Isfahan and southwestern Kouzestan provinces.
Because of the economical sanction measures against the country, metal trading is also affected. Therefore, the government planned to increase its steel products’ self-sufficiency by raising output.
