Vietnam’s coal outputs slide
|
According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country’s coal production has been falling this year.
It’s analyzed that the decreased coal output was caused by weak demand from domestic market and sluggish exports.
In the first eight months of this year, the country exploited 28.30 million tons of coals, falling by 5.9% in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, Vietnam’s coal exports totaled 8.7 million tons, declining substantially by 23.8% year on year, making the country’s coal inventories grow.
Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin) has decided to cut the coal domestic prices by around VND110,000~VND180,000/ton.
