US steel wire prices to rise
|
Reportedly, the US steel mills including Nucor, Gerdau Long Steel North America and Keystone have announced to raise the prices of steel wires by US$70~US$80/short ton for September.
However, it’s learned that some buyers were expecting for the price cut and taking wait-and-see attitude towards the market.
Nevertheless, industry sources said that the US steelmakers might continue to raise the prices further in the following two months due to tight supply and decreased import volumes.
