Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 9.7% y-o-y in July
|
According to statistics released by the Iron and Steel Producers' Association of Turkey (DCUD), Turkey’s crude steel output exceeded 3.1 million tons this July, rising by 9.7% year on year and increasing by 6.8% from a month earlier.
DCUD indicated that Turkey’s crude steel output kept growing in spite of the shrunk global market.
In the first seven months of this year, Turkey’s crude steel output exceeded 21.06 million tons, increasing by 9.3% year on year.
Among them, 15.90 million tons were produced by electric furnaces, increasing by 11.8% and 5.2 million tons were produced by blast furnaces, rising by 2.4%, both compared to that in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, the country’s output of billets totaled 15.90 million tons, increasing by 16.2%; that of slab was at 5.2 million tons, sliding by 7.6%, both compared to that in the same period of a year ago.
