China Steel Corp. (CSC), the major blast furnace mill in Taiwan, announced its sales revenue in July was at NT$18.113 billion, slumping by 65.91% year on year and falling by 38.33% from a month earlier.
CSC said the company produced 666,500 tons of steel products in July and its sales volumes totaled 7764,300 tons, increasing by 3.9% from a month earlier.
More than 470,000 tons of CSC's sales volumes were supplied for domestic market, acquiring 61.5% of the total and around 290,000 tons were for the export markets, taking 38.5%.
Industry sources said that CSC's sales used to be around 70%~75% for domestic market and 25%~30% for export market.
Therefore, the company’s increased export sales volumes in July reflected weak domestic market.
