Japan’s stainless steel scrap imports fall by 11.6% m-o-m in June

According to statistics, Japan imported 11,997 tons of stainless steel scraps in June, falling by 11.6% from a month earlier.
Among them, 4,864 tons were from South Korea, increasing by 1.9%; 3,311 tons were from the US, falling by 6.2%; 1,019 tons were from Taiwan, decreasing substantially by 65.4% and 564 tons were from Thailand, soaring by 83.1%, all compared to that in a month ago.
Meanwhile, Japan exported 12,006 tons of stainless steel scrap in June. In the first half of this year, the country’s exports of stainless steel scrap totaled 86,662 tons.
