|
It is reported that Indian Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) planned to expand its ferroalloy annual production output by 70% to 100,000 tons at its Chandrapur Ferro Alloys Plant.
Currently, Chandrapur Ferro Alloys Plant has operated manganese-based ferroalloys products and supplied to SAIL's integrated mills.
SAIL said that it expected to increase its ferroalloys production output for SAIL’s expansion of steelmaking capacity to 24 million tons per year.
The new project is expected to be completed in 2013.
Meanwhile, SAIL has already agreed a joint venture with MOIL Limited for construction the annual production output by 160,000 tons of ferroalloy with total investment US$73 million.
The new expansion project is expected to contribute the annual production output of ferromanganese approximately 31,000 tons and silicon-manganese about 75,000 tons respectively.
