Japanese H beam prices to rebound
|
Recently, Japan’s H beam prices have almost touched the bottom and market participants expected that the H beam prices might start to rebound after the Japanese Buddhist holiday.
At present, the quote of the large-size H beam were at ￥68,000~￥69,000/ton in the Japanese Tokyo market and the quotes in Osaka market were at ￥63,000~￥64,000/ton, remaining unchanged for consecutive three weeks while falling by ￥1,000/ton in comparison of the quotes in early July.
It’s analyzed that the stable H beam prices were supported by increased scrap prices and steelmakers’ firm quotes, in spite of sluggish demand for H beams during the slack season for construction industry.
