Last week, the scrap prices rise in the US domestic market. It’s known that the scrap prices surged by US$20~US$30/ton averagely in the Western and Eastern American markets, boosted by the price hike of rebar and steel long products in the US domestic market.
It’s known that the US steelmakers hiked the rebar and steel long products by US$22/ton and US$44/ton respectively in August.
For the prospect, it’s expected that the US scrap export prices would rise as week, driven by active scrap and rebar market in Europe.
At present, the quotes of the US container HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Turkey have soared to US$410~US$420/ton C&F.
