Japan's copper exports to China double in June
|
It's reported that Japan's June exports of copper cathode to China almost doubled compared to the same month a year ago. Figures showed that the strong gains occurred due to a sharp reduction of production on the magnitude 9.0 earthquake that damaged smelters in the world's third biggest refined copper producer in the 3 months through June. Japan's cathode exports to China increased by 95% to 17,248 tons in June, accounting for 40% of Japan's cathode exports.
Meanwhile, the country's exports of refined copper including billet and others soared substantially by 160% year on year to reach 71,368 tons in June.
