Taiwanese single rerolling mills may keep wire rod prices flat for August
|
Reportedly, the Taiwanese single rerolling mills may keep the wire rod prices unchanged for August after China Steel Corp. (CSC) announced to remain its August list prices for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rod unchanged.
The major single rerolling mills in Taiwan such as Yieh Hsing and Quintain Steel are going to release August price policy this week. Industry sources expected that they would follow CSC to keep the August prices unchanged.
It’s known that CSC cut its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rod by NT$1,000/ton for July. As a result, the single rerolling mills reduced the July list prices by NT$500~NT$1,000/ton averagely.
Industry insiders said that since the single rerolling mills had reduced the list for July and CSC kept the prices for EF Al-killed wire rod flat for August, the single rerolling mills might remain the prices unchanged for August in spite of poor market demand.
At present, the single rerolling mills’ list prices of Al-killed wire rod are at NT$25,500~NT$25,800/ton; that for rimmed wire rod is at NT$25,000/ton and that for killed wire rod is at NT$24,000/ton.
