Russian NLMK commissions new BF No. 7

It’s reported that Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), one of the major steelmakers in Russia announced to commission its new blast furnace (BF) No. 7.
It’s known that the total investment for the project of BF No.7 is at around US$1.3 billion and the total annual capacity is expected to reach 3.4 million tons.
In addition, the BF No. 7 is the first to have been established in Russia over the past 25 years. Also, it is the largest one carried out in NLMK’s technical upgrade project.
NLMK’s annul steel production at its Lipetsk works is expected to rise by 36% to hit 12.4 million tons after the firm commissions of the BF No.7 and a new basic oxygen furnace (BOF)
