Taiwan’s screw exports prices fall for consecutive five months
|
It’s reported that Taiwan’s screw export prices have fallen for consecutive five months due to weak market demand.
In fact, the Taiwanese screw makers’ received order volumes increased in the first four months of this year. However, as CSC cut its list prices of steel wire and bar for January and February, the screw export prices dropped accordingly.
In this January, the average export prices of screws were at US$2.838/kg., rising by 5% from a month earlier; nevertheless, it started to fall from February.
At present, the average export prices of screws have fallen for consecutive five months. In June, the average export prices of screws decreased to US$2.716/kg, decreasing by US$3.71/kg in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier.
In the first half of this year, the average export prices of screws were at US$2.766/kg, up slightly by 1.58% year on year while decreasing by 3.45% in comparison of that in the second half of 2011. Industry sources indicated that Taiwan’s screw export prices may drop further since China Steel Corp. (CSC) cut its list prices of steel wire and bar.
