Italy’s H1 steel output remains flat
|
According to Italy’s steel industry body Federacciai, the European Union’s second largest steelmaker after Germany, Italy produced 14.8 million tons of steel in the first half of 2012, presenting a flat rate from the same period of 2011.
The data also showed the country’s steel output in June declined by 7.9% to 2.4 million tons, the continuous month of output downward trend since April.
It was predicted that steel output would drop in 2012 from 2011 due to the worse economic condition.
