US’s April stainless imports rise in first four months of this year

In the first months of this year, the US’s imports of stainless steel plates totaled 77,195 tons, rising by 7.8% year on year, according to statistics released by the Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA)
In the given period of time, the country’s imports of stainless steel bars was at 52,956 tons, surging by 11.7%; that of stainless steel rods was at 10,055 tons, increasing by 4.4% and that of stainless steel wires was at 15,564 tons, up by 0.7%, all compared to that in the same period a year earlier.
However, the US’s imports of stainless steel sheets and strips decreased by 7.8% year on year to 124,048 tons in the first four months of this year.
