Scrap import prices rise in East Asian market

Its’ reported that scrap import prices have rose in East Asian market recently.
Last week, Taiwan’s import prices of the US container HMS 80:20 (1&2) increased to US$375~US$380/ton CFR from the previous US$375/ton CFR. At present, the latest quotes are at US$382~US$385/ton CFR.
Traders predicted that the international scrap market would remain flat in the near short term by the coming of summer vacation and Ramadan in Middle East.
However, it’s expected that the scrap buyers might return to purchase in August for preparing stockpiles for September production.
