Germany’s crude steel output may lower than forecast in 2012
|
Recently, the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl revised its forecast for the country’s crude steel output in 2012 due to sluggish economy.
The federation previously forecast that Germany’s crude steel production would be at 44 million tons in 2012; however, it cut the forecast because of the uncertainties in global economy and weak demand.
In the first half of this year, Germany’s crude steel output totaled 21.90 million tons, deceasing by 5.7% year on year.
Furthermore, it’s been seen that the country’s crude steel output might drop further in the second half of this year as the steelmakers will postpone production for maintenance in summer.
