Taiwanese rolling mill attempts to compete with CSC on EF Al-killed wrie rod market
|
One of the Taiwanese rolling mills has produced the electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rod recently to compete against China Steel Corp. (CSC), which has huge advantage on prices.
It is reported that many downstream screw buyers are interested in the latest EF Al-killed wire rod as it is much cheaper than the material of blast furnace and equivalent to the same material from CSC.
The price of the EF Al-killed wire rod from rolling mill is estimated about US$770/ton. The company believes its lower prices could position into wire rod market with the situation of sluggish steel demand.
