Turkey’s deformed steel bar exports surge by 33.4% y-o-y in May

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey exported 742,596 tons of deformed steel bars in May, rising by 33.4% year on year and increasing by 22.8% from a month earlier.
In the first five months of this year, the country’s exports of deformed steel bars totaled 3.61 million tons, increasing by 21.3% in comparison of that in the same period of a year ago. The export values generated by the products amounted to US$2.3 billion, soaring by 22.5% year on year.
In the given period, Iraq was the largest importer of the Turkish deformed steel bars with 475,336 tons; the UAE was the second largest one with 412,296 tons; Saudi Arabic was the third largest one with 255,747 tons.
