Japan’s May stainless steel import down slightly

According to data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF), Japan imported 14,210 tons of stainless steel in May, down by 3% from a month ago.
Among them, 10,410 tons were from South Korea, falling by 3.3%; 1,170 tons were from Taiwan, reducing by 13% and 1,190 tons were from China, rising by 58.2%, all compared to that in a month earlier.
In May, the import values generated by stainless steel amounted to US$52.035 million. The average import prices of stainless steel were at US$3,661.86/ton, up by 0.3% month on month.
