Australia imposes import duties on steel pipes from four countries
|
Reportedly, the Australian Customs Service has decided to impose import duties on steel pipes from China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan as it found the four countries dumped cheap products into the local market.
Mr. Jason Clare, the Australian affairs minister stated that the new duties will be between 57% for some Chinese exporters and 2.4% form the Taiwanese Ta Fong Steel Co. Ltd.
It’s known that OneSteel, now known as Arrium Limited, the second largest steelmaker in Australia submitted a complaint to urge the government to investigate on the steel pipes imports from the four countries, on behalf of its pipe making arm Tube Mills Limited.
