Ukraine’s scrap exports surge by 40.6% y-o-y in first five months of this year

According to statistics released by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), Ukraine exported 256,400 tons of scraps in the first five months of this year, soaring by 40.6% year on year.
In May alone, the country’s scrap exports totaled 72,400 tons, increasing by 20.5% from a month earlier.
In the first five months of this year, Ukraine imported 29,600 tons of scraps, falling by 54.5% in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier.
