Pakistan’s May scrap imports surge by 15.4% m-o-m
|
According to statistics, Pakistan imported 121,563 tons of scraps in May, rising by 15.4% from a month earlier while decreasing by 14.5% year on year.
In May, the scrap import values reached US$41.80 million, soaring by 24% month on month while decreasing by 6% year on year.
During July, 2011 through May, 2012, the country’s scrap imports totaled 1.43 million tons, down by 1.1% year on year.
In the given period of time, the import values generated by scraps amounted to US$488.6 million, increasing by 4.3% year on year.
