|
According to Japan’s trade ministry, Japan’s crude steel demand is expected to increase by 0.6% in the third quarter from one year earlier. However, it is seen about 1.9% down for steel demand from the second quarter.
Demand for crude steel is expected to be about 27.1 million tons for July-September quarter, according the survey and inventory levels by the end of June.
The steel exports were at a very level last year due to strong yen. Next quarter exports of carbon steel are expected to rise by 6.4% year-on-year to 6.99 million tons
Domestic demand for carbon steel will fall about 1.2% from one year ago to 12.52 million tons as the demand from shipbuilder is still slow.
