Vale receives license to establish largest iron ore mine
|
The world’s mining giant Vale said on Wednesday that the firm received the environmental license to establish Carajas iron ore mine, in Amazonian region in state of Pará, Brazil.
The Carajas iron ore mine will the Vales’ biggest iron ore and also will be the largest in the iron ore industry.
Meanwhile, Vale invested an estimated capital expenditure of US$8.039 billion for the development of the mine and processing plant.
It’s expected that the Cajaras iron ore mine would have an annual capacity of 90 million tons of iron ore with the average ferrous content of 66.48% and low concentration of impurities.
Besides, the Carajas iron ore mine is planned to begin the operation in the second half of 2016.
